About Elaine...
I became a doula after careers as a teacher and writer
(see credentials). I'm
passionate about the welfare of new parents and their babies and want to
share my training and knowledge to make your first few weeks at home with
your new baby a joy.
I have a wealth of experience, resources and
information to share to quickly boost your skills and your confidence.
In addition to working as a doula, I thoroughly enjoy teaching infant massage and Baby Sign language and moderate a discussion group for new moms that one mom likened to a "Master's Degree in being a mom".
I'm a member of Doulas of North America (DONA) and Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association (CAPPA) as well as the Doulas of New
Jersey and Birthnet.
Personally, I'm the mother of two wonderful, competent adult daughters (Oh, how I wish I'd known a doula to work with me when they came home!) and the
grandmother of two. I'm a long-time resident of Northern New Jersey where
I've been active in school, community and church-related activities.
